How Liverpool Attacker Almost Joined Man Utd Revealed

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has narrated how he almost joined Premier League rivals Manchester United before settling for the Reds in the summer of 2016.

In his recent interview monitored by popular English media portal Daily Mirror, Sadio Mane revealed that he spoke to former Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal (LVG) about a potential transfer to the Theatre of Dreams before he was convinced to move to Anfield by the Liverpool boss.

He spoke about Manchester United ahead of the Champions League final clash with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Dutch tactician LVG was the Manchester United manager for two years before he was sacked in the summer of 2016 shortly after he won the FA Cup title for the Red Devils.

Sadio Mane almost signed for Manchester United before the timely intervention of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Senegalese international joined the Reds from fellow Premier League club Southampton.

Liverpool paid around £34m to secure his transfer from the Saints and it has been money well spent as Mane has been a revelation for the Merseysiders.

Sadio Mane has formed a potent front trio for the Reds alongside Egyptian international Mohamed Salah and Brazilian star Roberto Firmino.

The Senegalese star has been one of the best players for Liverpool this season after netting 26 goals in all competitions.
