Espanyol defender Aaron Martin has been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City in recent times, and the talented player has insisted he is happy at the La Liga club.
Martin has been impressive at Espanyol and is fast becoming one of the most promising left-backs in the Spanish top flight.
The Spain Under-21 international only made his senior debut at the club just few months back, but his now being monitored by some other top European clubs.
Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo made it known that Man United boss Jose Mourinho has been monitoring the youngster’s progress at Espanyol, and has sent scout to watch him play a number of times this term.
Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on Aaron’s situation at his club, but the 20-year-old insists his future is with Espanyol.
Speaking recently to newsmen when asked about interests from the Manchester clubs, Martin said it is ‘flattering’ to know other clubs are monitoring him, but he only thinks about Espanyol right now as he is happy playing with the club.
“I feel very comfortable with my teammates [at Espanyol] and they help me a lot” the young Spaniard said.
Ashely Young is Mourinho’s major left-back this season, and a player like Martin will be a good replacement for the veteran Englishman.
