Deal almost done – Arsenal set to complete deal for key duo

Premier League giants Manchester United may be set to raid rivals Arsenal for the winter transfer of Chilean international Alexis Sanchez, but they’ve gotten some unpleasant news in their chase of German star Mesut Ozil.

The Daily Mirror suggested earlier in the campaign that the German was confident of signing for the Manchester United, so much so that he’d informed his colleagues about his likely next destination.

The Independent meanwhile, reported days ago that the Red Devils remained interested in signing the Germany international on a free when his Arsenal contract runs out this summer.

In a remarkable twist, however, Manchester United look ready to be turned down as the 29-year-old forward supposedly seems close to renewing his contract at the Emirates, as reported by the Sun.

This would be a huge boost for the gunners in what has been a tough campaign, with the Chilean looking prepared to seal a switch to Old Trafford unfailingly today, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.

While losing Sanchez is a big disappointment, preventing another major player in Mesut Ozil from joining the Red Devil’s will be a major kind of success by Arsene Wenger.

The Sun also suggests Jack Wilshere is another key member of the team closing in on signing a new contract.
