According to latest reports of Alexis Sanchez joining Manchester United, the club won’t be taking any other move to sign Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Alexis is set to complete a switch to Manchester United, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan expected to move to the Emirates Stadium in exchange for the former Barcelona man.
Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay around £35million for the Chilean international, and the 29-year-old will be given the No.7 shirt once everything is settled and dusted.
Popular Spanish news outlet Marca indicates the red devils had ‘reserved’ the No. 7 shirt for Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has consistently been linked with a return to Old Trafford in recent times, but it was made known that Alexis’ arrival will put an end to the club’s plans to re-sign Cristiano from Real Madrid, and manager Jose Mourinho has no intention of going for the 32-year-old.
Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has congratulated the Chilean for the deal after his current side were beaten by their neighbours for the player’s signature.
Alexis Sanchez worked under Guardiola back then at Barcelona, winning Champions League, La Liga trophies at the Camp Nou.
The South American player will definitely add quality to Mourinho’s team.
