Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has issued a stern warning that his star player Philippe Coutinho is not for sale this summer at any price.
The talented Brazilian has emerged as a target for Spanish heavyweights Barcelona this summer with the La Liga club keen on bolstering their squad ahead of next season.
Barca are understood to have made a £72million bid for the Samba star on Thursday night, but it was added that Liverpool rejected the bid immediately.
Coutinho has evolved into an integral member in the Liverpool squad and he was able to score 14 goals in 36 appearances for the Anfield club last season.
He signed a five-year deal with the reds in January and Klopp’s side are under no pressure to sell him.
And the German manager has warned Barcelona that they should better look elsewhere for a player because the reds are not a ‘selling’ club and they won’t sell Countiho.
‘Yes (he is not for sale), but that’s not since this morning or yesterday, it’s not been any different,’ said Jurgen.
‘I’m not surprised that any club is interested in players at Liverpool. The very important message is that we are not a selling club and that’s how it is.’
