Deal close! Arsenal ready to give BVB player a try

Arsenal are reportedly ready to give Borussia Dortmund player Julian Weigl a trial ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks.

The North London side are believed to have been monitoring the situation with Julian Weigl at the German Bundesliga outfit through the head of recruitment Sven Mislintat who once worked with Borussia Dortmund.

Although, the Gunners will have to battle Premier League giants Manchester City for the signature of the Germany based player after the Etihad side were also reported to be monitoring Julian Weigl as well.

The 23-year-old midfielder is no longer a favourite at the club which makes a move away easier than ever despite the fact that he is still being regarded as a special player.

The Gunners seem to have had a change of heart on their decision towards the coming January transfer window following the sideline of English forward Danny Welbeck.

However, they could be tempted to finalize a deal for Julian Weigl who is very familiar to the Arsenal head of recruitment knowing that the team will be short of options especially in the second half of the season which is going to be toughest.

The Gunners are keen to return back to Champions League football next season and that will only be possible with a top-four finish.
