Juventus Star Player Submits Transfer Request Amid Chelsea Interest

The summer transfer window is closing next week and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is still trying to get some signings done before the curtain closes.

His side has been linked with a handful of superb players recently, one of which is Juventus star player Claudio Marchisio.

Conte is said to be interested in the talented midfielder and the Champions League finalists have themselves made the player available for sale this summer.

Even though the Serie A champions have sold Francesco Cassata and Mario Lemina to Sassuolo and Southampton respectively (with Tomas Rincon moving also to Torino on loan), they won’t mind selling another midfielder considering new arrivals.

Without a doubt, lots of Juventus fans love Claudio and expect him to be the next club captain after Gianluigi Buffon. However, he is said to have handed in a transfer request after Juve boss told him he is no longer seen as an important player at Turin, as he approaches the final phase of his career on the pitch.

Even though Antonio Conte is understood to have the interest of bringing the 31-year-old to west London, it was also added that Chelsea management are not particularly keen on signing him become of his age.

Apart from Marchisio, another midfielder that has been strongly linked with the premier league champions this summer is Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater.
