Ezequiel Garay

Manchester United have joined race to sign Valencia center-back, Ezequiel Garay, according to reports.

The Argentine has been followed by a couple of clubs in recent seasons, due to his solid displays and experience in the heart of defence.

United were believed to be after the 30-year-old during Louis Van Gaal’s reign at the club but could not get him but reports in several outlets are claiming that the Red Devils have reingnited their interest in signing the defender and even sent scouts to watch him at the Mestalla.

The English giants have done a bit of good business this summer already, signing Victor Lindelof from Benfica to reinforce their backline in the new season.

Reports in Spanish outlet Superdeporte claim that Manchester United sent scouts to watch Garay during Valencia’s game against Las Palmas last weekend.

However, United will have to beat the likes of Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of the experienced centre-back, with reports that both clubs are also considering a summer move for Garay.

Juve are said to be leading the pursuit for the Valencia star as they look to replace Leonardo Bonucci who left them for Serie A rivals, AC Milan earlier this summer.
