Finally, Bayern Cool Interest To Sign £50m Liverpool Striker Target

Newly crowned Champions League winners Liverpool have been boosted by the news that German champions Bayern Munich have cooled their interest in one of their transfer targets.

RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has emerged as a transfer target for both Bayern Munich and Liverpool after a stellar campaign with his German Bundesliga outfit.

According to the Daily Mirror, Bayern Munich were favourites to sign the German international player ahead of Liverpool but the Bavarian giants have been put off any potential deal after a £50m transfer fee was slammed on his head.

It was revealed that Bayern Munich have opted to concentrate on the possibility of signing Leroy Sane from Premier League champions Manchester City.

German international Sane has two years left on his Manchester City contract.

Liverpool have a potent strike force of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino but Timo Werner provides an extra dimension ahead of the new season but it remains to be seen whether the Reds would be willing to spend a lot of money on a backup option.

Timo Werner is unlikely to displace the front trio of Salah, Firmino and Mane.

The petite German scored 16 league goals for RB Leipzig who have returned to the Champions League stage after third place on the table at the end of the season.
