Liverpool Join Arsenal In Race To Sign 16-Goal Star

Premier League leaders Liverpool are the latest team to be linked with a move for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe who has been in devastating form for his team this season.

Pepe has been a key performer for Champions League chasers Lille dating back to last season when his goal contributions led to the Reds’ survival.

The Reds could hijack a move for Nicolas Pepe from the Gunners who are the overwhelming favorites to sign him in the summer.

Arsenal were unable to firm up their string interest with a bid after it was revealed that they can only sign loan players.

Lille had earlier slapped an €80m transfer fee on the Ivorian international player in a bid to ward off major European sides like Arsenal.

German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have also been touted as a potential transfer destination for the in-form Pepe.

The Ivorian international hugged the headlines for the right reasons for the umpteenth time when he played a big role in the 4-0 thrashing of Nice.

Nicolas Pepe scored one and provided another for Lille who took a step closer to Champions League qualification next season.

He has now scored 16 goals and also provided seven assists for Lille in this campaign.
