Premier League table-toppers Liverpool were one of a few clubs in the English top flight that failed to reinforce their squad with signings during the just concluded winter transfer window.
The Reds were linked with a lot of players like Nabil Fekir and Timo Werner but nothing came out of those transfer links.
The reason behind the Reds’ decision not to sign both Timo Werner and Nabil Fekir has now been revealed.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds believe they can get the two players for Cheaper transfer fees in the summer.
Timo Werner currently plays his club football for German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, while Nabil Fekir is on the payroll of French Ligue 1 giants Lyon at the moment.
Werner and Keita will have just one year left at the end of the season thus handing Liverpool a big advantage over their respective teams.
German international star Timo Werner has been in superb form this season with 11 goals scored in the Bundesliga since the start of the season.
He has been attracting the interest of several European sides like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund.
Nabil Fekir came close to joining Liverpool last summer only for the Reds to pull out of the deal because of a keen problem.
