Legend Wants Barcelona Stay For £142m-rated Ex-Liverpool Playmaker

Barcelona legend Histro Stoichkov has written an open letter to midfielder Philippe Coutinho urging him to snub offers from the Premier League and stay at the Nou Camp.

According to the report from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho was advised to stay with his Spanish La Liga club rather than him leaving to return to the Premier League.

The Brazilian international has struggled to make a meaningful impact since joining Barcelona from Premier League table toppers Liverpool in January 2018.

Coutinho became the third most expensive player in the world after his transfer last year.

Barcelona paid a whopping sum of £142m for him but he has only scored four goals and provided two assists in the league.

His failure to adapt to the style employed by Ernesto Valverde has prompted talks of a return to the Premier League with clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea keen to sign the player.

A possible return to Liverpool has also been mooted in the British media but it’s highly unlikely that the Reds will be interested in bringing back Philippe Coutinho following the way he left the club in January 2018.

Apart from Liverpool and Manchester United, French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) also retain an interest in Coutinho.
