According to media reports in England, Chelsea are preparing a summer transfer offer to try and land Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld.
Chelsea keen on defensive reinforcement
The Sun is claiming that Chelsea are interested in making a move to try and land the Belgium international as they attempt to reinforce their backline ahead of next campaign.
As par the same article, Toby Alderweireld is rated at about £45million and is wanted by the Blues after refusing to agree to a new deal with the North London club.
Toby, 29, has a season remaining on his current deal with Spurs and is “firmly” on the Blues’ radar, as per the same article.
Manchester clubs also keen
The same story says that both Manchester clubs have also been closely keeping tabs on the defender, but it looks like the 2017 Premier League champions are now leading the transfer race to complete his signature.
The West London giant are currently in the fifth position on the Premier League log as they look to attempt and pip the White Hart Lane giants to a Champions League qualification spot this term.
Conte keen on ending on a high
Antonio Conte’s side are aiming to finish the current campaign on a high note by beating second-placed Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup final in May at the Wembley Stadium.
