Pivotal role at Anfield

The 26-year-old forward has become an important player for Liverpool since joining them from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim back in 2015, netting a total of 50 goals in 140 matches.

He has scored 27 goals this campaign to fire the Reds to the brink of a top-four place in the English Premier League and on the verge of the UEFA Champions League final.

His double last week Tuesday helped his side build a 5-2 lead over Italian Serie A side AS Roma in their UEFA Champions League semi-final, with the return leg coming up in the City of Rome, Italy on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian told Liverpoolfc.com it was an easy decision to extend his stay at Anfield.

“The club [Liverpool] have taken me [Firminho] in an incredible manner and I [Firminho] have grown a lot here [at the club] with my work [playing the game] with the support of the whole squad. I [Fuirminho] am very happy here [at Anfield].

The Brazil international confirmed his team-mates are fantastic and appreciate the opportunity to be able to play with his colleague at this club.
