Arsenal manager rule out January move for star player

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has calmed rumour of bringing in Borussia Dortmund star forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the winter transfer window.

Arsenal were strongly linked with a transfer for the Gabon international forward on Thursday to create great excitement amongst Arsenal fans on social media.

As per the reports, the African was being prepared as a possible replacement for out-of-contract striker Alexis Sanchez in the winter transfer window.

The Dortmund forward has been constantly linked with a transfer to the English Premier League over the last two or three years but a proposed move to the Premier League has failed to happen.

Questioned about the Gunners signing the forward in the winter transfer window, Arsene Wenger told reporters on Friday morning: “No, it’s [the transfer is] not a possibility.”

The Chilean has just six months left on his Arsenal deal to throw up the likelihood of the Chilean international departing for free next summer.

The former Barcelona star has been heavily linked with a switch to League leaders Manchester City in the past 1 year or so.

The forward missed out on a move to City in the summer window after the Gunners failed to bring in AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar to replace the Chilean on transfer deadline day.
