Chelsea set to make second January signing after Barkley arrival

It looks like a busy winter at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea are allegedly already looking at bringing in another player to follow up on the signing of Ross Barkley.

As per BBC Sport, the Blues secured the signing of £15million deal for former Everton man, with the club unveiling the player on Friday evening.

The Sun claims, Chelsea are now eyeing Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez, although they also note that the former Premier League Champion boss Claude Puel is not keen on losing the African which is understandable considering his importance to the team.

The Algerian international playmaker was key in Leicester City’s remarkable title-winning season, while he’s scored eight goals and made eight assists in 24 matches so far this campaign as he looks to have rediscovered his best form once again after dropping in form last season.

To give Blues faithful further positivity that a move will materialize, as seen in various tweet, France Football have claimed that the 26-year-old attacking midfielder will be allowed to go in the New Year and so it really depends on if or not the Premier League Champions, or another suitor, can convince the Foxes to agree to offload.

Antonio Conte has options on the flanks with Belgian Eden Hazard, Brazilian Willian and Spaniard Pedro, but it would seem as though he isn’t absolutely content and wants to reinforce his squad.
