Chelsea set to complete £54 million transfer of Bundesliga goal machine

According to reports, Chelsea seems to have been given a huge potential transfer boost as reports emanating from Spain suggest La Liga Champions Real Madrid have snubbed the opportunity to sign Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Recently, Daily Mirror claimed the Gabon international striker had been offered to Premier League Champions Chelsea by his German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund as they attempt to sell him after a major fall-out with club tactician Peter Bosz.

Meanwhile, the Sun have claimed the forward could be made available for about £54million in the New Year, which looks like a good bargain for a player with such a brilliant goalscoring record.

It’s easy to see why the Blues might want Pierre, 28, who has scored 21 goals in 20 matches for the German side this campaign and 141 in just over four years with the German Bundesliga giants.

The latest development is a rather depressing one for supporters of the club, however, with Don Balon suggesting French tactician  Zinedine Zidane passed up on an offer from the striker himself over a transfer to Santago Bernabeu.

The report states Zidane would favour keeping faith with French striker Karim Benzema for the main time, despite the Real striker’s hugely unimpressive form so far this campaign.
