Arsenal legend Pires reveals what we should expect from Henry at Monaco

Published

Thierry Henry

The news is finally here and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been appointed as Monaco’s manager.

The former Barcelona striker has been appointed as the manager of French side Monaco with his job expected to begin after the international break.

Before the appointment, Henry was in line to take up the vacant position at Aston Villa but immediately declined when he was assured he would secure an appointment with the French side.

However, Arsenal legend Robert Pires have explained what we should expect from the former Belgium assistant coach who is now the boss himself.

Pires says he backs Henry to have a successful career with the French side and also to make his impact.

It is suggested that the French manager has learnt a lot from Manchester City and former Arsenal managers, Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger respectively.

Most importantly Henry benefitted from the wealth of experience of his boss Roberto Martinez, especially with the World Cup outing.

Henry amongst other factors is convinced to be the right man for the job as well as help the club from its winless streak.

This is the first time Henry will be handling a job as the main manager and not an assistant or a youth coach.

Why Arsenal are not bothered about Ramsey’s potential exit, Sanllehi

Published

on

Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi has unwittingly stated that the club will not lose it sleep over the potential departure of Arsenal contract rebel, Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season.

Ramsey enters his last months of his current Arsenal deal and efforts to have a new deal with the club failed as a result of the financial demands of the Wales player.

The suggestions that Ramsey would be sold in January to enable the Gunners cash in on him has been dismissed with the Wales international revealing that he has had an agreement with the North London club, adding that he will be available until the end of the season.

However, Arsenal chief Sanllehi thinks replacing Ramsey will not be difficult especially with the young prospects in the club who are already showing signs of greatness.

Sanllehi likens to Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson as young players who could quickly step in the shoes of the Wales man.

According to the Gunners chief, the club has had a history of developing academy players into world stars, hinting that the culture will still be maintained under the current dispensation.

However, Arsenal need not to panic on the matter as he hopes Ramsey will not be greatly missed.

Ramsey not alone at Arsenal’s exit door

Published

Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal contract rebel, Aaron Ramsey seems not to be the only player who is currently at the exit door of the Emirates Stadium as he might be joined by Danny Welbeck if reports from the Mirror is anything to go by.

Danny Welbeck is running through his last year at the Emirates Stadium and he is yet to reach an agreement with the club, placing him in the same situation with the Wales international.

It seems confirmed that Ramsey will be leaving the North London club in the January transfer window after the club failed to agree on a deal with the player because of the financial burden already being incurred.

In a bid to avoid him leaving for free at the end of the season, Arsenal are keen to let him leave in January so as to be able to cash in on him and that could be the same with Welbeck who will likely be sold in the coming window.

Arsenal have been blamed by club legends for being too careless in respect to player’s contract knowing that Ramsey’s exit from the club will be a blow as he has grown to be a mature and important player in the team.

Why I snub Lacazette despite form, Didier Deschamps

Published

didier deschamps

The French national team coach Didier Deschamps has claimed the reason why he snubbed Arsenal inform striker Alexandre Lacazette from his national team is because of the competition in the team.

Deschamps had refused the former Lyon striker from the World Cup team and that has not changed with the call for the UEFA nations league despite the fine form of the player.

In his defence, the French boss stated that the Arsenal striker must work harder to earn a place because of the competition in the team.

He added that the players who won the World Cup are still at their best; hence it might be difficult for new additions.

He made it clear that the attack position, in particular, has been very competitive which makes it difficult for him to find a space in the team.

Lacazette has scored 5 goals in all competitions this season with his latest brace against Fulham on Sunday.

His fine form has caught the attention of the football world and that has earned him a place in FIFA team of the week.

Despite being snubbed at the national side, the player has continued working as he is an important part of the Arsenal team.

Ozil takes swipe at critics in Instagram post

Published

Mesut Ozil

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil’s Instagram is one to behold at the moment with the German player taking a swipe at his critics.

Ozil has been a subject of criticism at the Emirates Stadium over the past seasons, especially under former manager Arsene Wenger as he failed to deliver his best at the club.

On several occasions, the German star was called out and battered by the Gunners fans on social media.

It is now time for the Arsenal no. 10 to fight back having bounced back to become the player he ought to be.

This season has seen Ozil returning to his best with his quick play and great form which has seen him score goals a couple of times this season.

The World Cup winner seems to be more motivated by new manager Unai Emery and has upgraded his game to fit into the pressing style of play introduced by the Spanish manager.

With his great form, Ozil thinks its time to give a reply as he wrote on his Instagram page; “Believe while others are doubting”

No doubt, the 29-year-old playmaker is now playing his £350,000 per week wage at the Emirates Stadium with expectations that he will do more having found a new life at the club.
