Laurent Koscielny boost for Arsenal ahead of Saturday meeting with West Ham
Arsenal football club has received a massive Laurent Koscielny boost ahead of their meeting with West Ham this saturday. News has it that the defender has returned to light training well ahead of the December return date earlier given by doctors.
The Arsenal captain who missed out of the France World cup winning squad ruptured his Achilles tendon in the first half of Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final second leg against Athletico Madrid in May 2018.
Arsenal head coach Unai Emery who is delighted at the news of his captain returning to training has however called for patience with the player going by the severity of his injury. He said:

“We need to be patient with him because the injury was an important injury. It is clear that it is very important to stay with us, working here and showing us that he wants to help us.” When pressed as to when Koscielny can start playing again, Emery said: ‘It’s difficult to know. You look at this morning, he’s running, he’s working on the pitch. The progress is very good progress.’
The 33-year-old Arsenal captain who moved from Lorient in France for a fee of £10 million has established himself in the heart of the Gunners back four has made over 300 appearances for the London club with 24 goals to the centre back’s name.
The news of his return could serve as an added impetus as the Gunners seek their first win of the current Premiership campaign when they welcome the Hammers to the Emirates this saturday.
