Arsenal prepared to replace Alexis Sanchez with Julian Draxler – report

Arsenal have placed PGS attacker Julian Draxler at the top of their wanting list to replace departing Alexis Sanchez in the New Year, according to reports.

The Daily Star is claiming that the Gunners are prepared to sign the German star to replace the Chilean in the January transfer window, with Premier League rivals Manchester City being strongly linked with a transfer for the Chilean international forward.

The same publication states that Arsenal could cash in on Sanchez if the Gunners receive a £30million bid for the 28-year-old attacker in January.

As per Starsport, Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger would rather Alexis Sanchez seal a move to French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain and the Gunners sign promising German Julian Draxler as part of the switch.

The 24-year-old playmaker is no stranger to being connected with the English Premier League and North London club Arsenal, while Merseyside club Liverpool have also been touted as a possible destination for Julian Draxler in the past.

The German has fallen out of favour at the club following Neymar Jr’s world-record £198million transfer to French Ligue 1 side PSG from Spanish La Liga league leaders FC Barcelona in the summer window.

He has netted two goals and has provided two assists in nine matches in Ligue 1 this season, while Julian Draxler has created one assist in four UEFA Champions League matches.
