Reports from Spanish publication Sport claim that Spanish giant Barcelona are interested in signing Liverpool’s attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho and have made him their number priority on their transfer list.
Coutinho has been in superb form for Liverpool so far this season which has seen him score five goals along with five assists in 11 premier league matches. His performances have not gone unnoticed as he has gotten man of the match awards in four premier league matches and on the international scene for Brazil under manager Tite he has become a regular in the team taking the place of Chelsea’ Willian in the starting line-up.
To further show his importance to both club and country, Coutinho was instrumental in Brazil’s 3-0 victory over arch rivals Argentina in a world cup qualifier as he opened the scoring with a scorcher from outside the box.
Sport reports that Barcelona are willing to offer Liverpool 65 million pounds for the services of the Brazilian and believe the deal will be possible to achieve because of the friendship between Coutinho and Neymar.
Sport further revealed that Coutinho has the technical and tactical ability to play for Barcelona and with the fact that he has also lived in Barcelona for some time during his time on loan at Espanyol he would have no problem settling down.
Liverpool right now to do not look like a side that will be ready to let go of one of their prized assets which Coutinho represents but it seems they will have a battle on their hands in the summer to prevent the Brazilian from leaving.
