Transfer boost for Arsenal as £34m target is told to leave

FC Barcelona have told Arsenal transfer target, Arda Turan, that he can leave the Camp Nou during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Turan, 30, has fallen down the pecking order at the Catalan club and has been left out of the squad by tactician Ernesto Valverde. The midfielder is yet to play for the Spanish La Liga giant so far this campaign.

The former Galatasaray player, along with Aleix Vidal and former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen have been informed that they are no longer needed at the club according to Sport.

According to sources, the Barcelona coach reportedly wants to make some changes to his team in January.

Meanwhile, as per Turkish-Football, the flamboyant midfielder is delighted at the La Liga club and that he would only consider a transfer to the English Premier League.

Reports has it that North London giant Arsenal tabled an offer for Turan over the summer window.  The Arsenal offer was confirmed by Turkey national team coach Mircea Lucescu.

 “I [Mircea Lucescu] spoke to [Ernesto] Valverde, Arsenal submitted Arda [Turan] an offer,” Mircea Lucescu stated.

“Arda [Turan] was close to joining Arsenal this summer [transfer window] but it did not materialize..”

The Gunners recorded a 2-1 win over Swansea on Saturday afternoon. The north London club take on Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
