Manchester United are considering a shock move for Arsenal youngster Marcus McGuane, according to reports.
The 18-year-old has not made a senior team appearance for the North London outfit but trained with the squad last season as they prepared for the FA Cup final against Chelsea in May.
However, McGuane has entered the last year of his career at the Emirates, sparking interest from a couple of clubs in Europe.
Reports in the Independent claim that United are preparing a shock move for the midfielder who has been a regular face for the under 23s at Arsenal.
There are reports that Manchester City, Juventus and Napoli are also said to be considering movs for the talented youngster who has been tipped to claim a stake in the first team in the near future.
Juventus are believed to be frontrunners in the deal to sign Marcus McGuane, who has been with Arsenal since the age of six.
However, what seems to yet to be known is whether, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will allow the highly-rated starlet leave to join any of his rivals, although it is very unlikely that the England Under-17 star will play for the first team in the coming months as Wenger continues to cut down his squad size.
