“I Watched Them Against Chelsea”: Hamann Tell Liverpool To Make This Signing In Summer

Dietmar Hamman thinks Liverpool need to sign a new holding midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window and has urged Liverpool  boss Jurgen Klopp to make signing a new holding midfielder for the Reds his top priority in the summer.

Liverpool’s poor start to 2017 continued on Saturday when they lost surprisingly to Hull City. The 2-0 loss further dent their hopes of sealing a top-four finish this term.

After the weekend games, Liverpool were placed in fifth position in the Premier League table and are now facing an uphill struggle to secure Champions League tickets for next season.

The Anfield club have struggled to produce consistent displays this year and are yet to win a match in the Premier League in 2017.

Now, former Liverpool man Dietmar Hamann feels that bringing in a new holding midfielder must be Jurgen Klopp’s priority in the summer transfer window.

Hamman told BBC Sport’s Match of the Day 2 that his biggest worry with Liverpool is that they are just too weak and too soft in central midfield, so actually they need a holding midfielder.

“I watched them against Chelsea, who had two proper players in Kante and Matic.“ he said.

“In Liverpool I don’t see enough purpose, I don’t see enough structure.

“And that’s why they are in the position they are at the moment.”

Liverpool will face Tottenham next weekend as they look to bounce back to winning ways in the top flight.
