Former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry took to Twitter on Sunday to reveal who he believes to be the best all-round player currently playing in the Premier League so far.
The former Arsenal man hailed Alexis Sanchez, but also gave credit to others like United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, and Spurs’ Harry Kane.
In a series of tweets, Henry, on his personal Twitter account, stated that it is hard to compare players whose attributes are different.
“But in terms of the best all-around you cannot deny Sanchez in terms of his passing, pressure and goals.”
“But you have to give credit to Hazard, Kane, Dele Alli, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Sadio Mane, N’Golo Kante, Ibrahimovic and Diego Costa for their equally impressive contributions.”
Henry’s claim can actually be backed up strongly when we look at Sanchez’s stats this season so far. Even though things have been tough for the Gunners as of late, the former Barcelona player is still joint second in the Premier League’s top goalscorer charts with 15 goals.
Apart from superb in goal-scoring, this season so far, he also has eight assists – second only to De Bruyne and tie with Matt Phillips and Christian Eriksen.
One man that is notably missing from Henry’s list of top players is Manchester City’s star Sergio Aguero who hasn’t started for the club for a whole month.
