Premier League Champions Chelsea could face tough competition over Juventus full-back Alex Sandro with European big spenders Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain having already made a move for the star.
According to renowned Italian publication CalcioMercato, Paris Saint Germain, and Manchester City made a move for the Brazilian last summer transfer window and despite their unsuccessful efforts to prize the player away from Serie A Champions Juventus it certainly throws the Blues current pursuit of the defender into jeopardy.
The full-back has been strongly linked to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks with reports suggesting that Italian tactician Antonio Conte is starting to want a new player in the left-wingback department rather than depending solely on Spaniard Marcos Alonso.
While the Spain international left back has impressed for the English Premier League Champions since joining, there has surely been questions raised over his quality. The Juve star has attacking talent a lot but is lacking defensively.
Alex Sandro would surely add an added defensive solidity to Chelsea’s defense having performed pretty well since signing for the Serie A side back in 2015 from Portuguese side FC Porto.
The Telegraph suggested this week that the Blues were looking to table up a £50 million offer for the defender to prompt his arrival to West London. However, the latest news regarding interests from Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain is sure to throw the switch into more uncertainty.
