‘He wants to leave’ – Chelsea close on shock deal for World Cup star

Chelsea close to sanction shock deal for World Cup star.

Chelsea FC are in dare need of a new goalkeeper following Belgium star, Thibaut Courtois insisting on leaving Stamford Bridge.

The Blues need to look for a replacement very fast before the close of the transfer window having lost Alisson Becker to English club, Liverpool.

This recent development made Chelsea shift their search for a goalkeeper in the Italian league, where they hope to sign AC Milan keeper, Pepe Reina.

The Spain international joined AC Milan on a free transfer from Napoli and may be on his way out of Italy very soon.

This is owing to the fact that Chelsea have promised him with a coaching offer after he retires.

Apart from this, Reina has shown interest in a possible move to Chelsea, where hehopese to join his former coach, Sarri Maurizio once again.

The duo of Sarri and Reina have once worked together for a short while before the duo went their separate ways.

However, the transfer fee of £9 million which Chelsea bring to the table for a 35-year-old goalkeeper shows it is not business for them especially owing to the fact that AC Milan signed him for free.

Even if Chelsea sign Pepe Reina, it would be on a temporary basis as they will still need to find a permanent goalkeeper, who is still very young.
