Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has asked Arsenal star player Mesut Ozil to ensure he helps his club win more trophies after putting pen on paper for a new deal with the gunners.
Ozil has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal following speculations that he won’t extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the Germany international has eventually signed a new contract with Arsenal that made him become the highest earner at the club (he is expected to take home about £350,000 each month).
The German midfielder joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 and has endured a mixed spell at the club.
Although he has won three FA Cups with Arsene Wenger’s side, he is yet to lift the premier league trophy or the Champions League.
Last season, the best the North Londoners could do is to finish sixth in the premier league – which was not enough to give them a Champions League ticket for this term, and they settled only for the Europa League.
And former Man United player Gary Neville has asked the 29-year-old to do all it takes to get the club back into the Champions League.
Well, Arsenal are still sitting on the sixth spot in the premier league, and they must avoid dropping more points if they are to finish among the top four at the end of this season.
