Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is of the opinion that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is the best player in the Premier League in 2016.
Kante has got a fine reputation after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders, playing a crucial role to help transform Chelsea into title favourites following his summer move.
Kante moved to Chelsea from defending champions Leicester City in the summer transfer window for a deal worth £34m. He was an important member in the squad that helped the Foxes to win the Premier League crown last season against the odds.
In recent months, the Frenchman has formed a midfield partnership with teammate Nemanja Matic to help the blues get a stranglehold on the title race amid competition from the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool too.
And Carragher speaking ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night to former Chelsea star Frank Lampard in Daily Mail, he expressed:
“I said recently Kante was the player of 2016, he does an amazing job.”
The blues are still eight points clear of their closest rivals Arsenal at the top of the English Premier League table with 16 games to play in the title race.
