Schalke 04 Eyeing £10m Move For Liverpool Striker

German Bundesliga club Schalke 04 are reportedly plotting a summer move for Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi who’s presently away from the club on loan.

Nigerian striker Awoniyi is on loan at Belgian Jupiler Pro-league side Mouscron having joined them during the winter transfer window.

According to the publication from popular media outlet Goal, Champions League campaigners, Schalke 04 are one of several clubs interested in a move for Taiwo Awoniyi ahead of the resumption of the transfer window this summer.

Taiwo Awoniyi has been in very good form for Mouscron since he joined the Belgians for his second loan spell at the club.

He has scored six goals in seven games since his loan transfer in January and that has led to six wins and one draw for the Belgian top flight side.

The 22-year-old had earlier scored 10 goals while he was at Mouscron last season.

Apart from Schalke 04, other clubs like Nice, Metz, and Toulouse (France); Hertha Berlin and Mainz 05 (Germany); and Club Brugge (Belgium) are keen on the in-form striker.

He previously had loan spells at clubs like FSV Frankfurt (Germany), NEC Nijmegen (Netherlands) and Gent (Belgium).

Despite his form, Taiwo Awoniyi was left out of the recent Super Eagles squad ahead of the games against Seychelles and Egypt.
