Mourinho Very Keen As Saul Niguez Set To Join Man United

Atletico Madrid star player Saul Niguez has been linked with a move away from the La Liga club for some time now after emerging as a target for a handful of top European clubs including Manchester United.

The talented Spaniard has evolved into one of the best midfielders in the world and is a versatile player who can play effectively in the attacking third as well.

There were reports last month that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is set to persuade Atletico to send Niguez across to Old Trafford by sending the duo of Ander Herrera and Juan Mata to the other direction.

However, the Sun are currently reporting that the Portuguese manager is still interested in signing Saul, but he wants Herrera to remain with him at the Theater of dreams.

Simeone’s side have not been in top form this term in the Spanish top flight and are even on the edge of getting eliminated from the Champions League.

And as far as Nigue, in particular, is concerned, his form has been poor so far. In 16 games this term so far for the Madrid club, the Spain international has scored just one goal and provided one assist.

The 22-year-old has a huge release clause of £134 million in his contract, and it is understood that he is open to joining the red devils if the two sides can agree on a deal.
