Arsenal star Santi Cazorla says he is training very hard and pushing even harder as he continues his fight to recover from the injury that has kept him out of action since October 2016.
The Spain international midfielder has not played first team football for over ten months after sustaining an Achilles injury in the Gunners UEFA Champions League victory over Ludogorets at the beginning of the last campaign.
Now Cazorla has revealed fresh update on his recuperation on the same day he was not named in Arsenal’s 25-man squad list for the first stanza of the English Premier League campaign.
Santi Cazorla, who has had eight surgery on his ankle since the real injury, has posted a new video on social media of himself training as he tries to prove his fitness.
The midfielder admitted he has once thought of retiring following several injury setbacks since he first got injured in October 2016.
He told a Spanish radio station back in July “I (Cazorla) don’t know how long it will take (me), but I’m (Cazorla) convinced that I’d (Cazorla) be back soon.”
The versatile midfielder has originally planned to return to full fitness in October, but it’s unlikely the 32-year-old Spaniard will play any role for the gunners until the second stanza of the season.
