Serie A champions Juventus are reportedly on the lookout for low-cost reinforcements next summer.
The Italian giants were heavily linked with Liverpool midfielder Emre Can for most of the past summer, but they couldn’t put a deal through. However, it appears they won’t be closing their books on the German star yet.
Despite the closure of the transfer window, it appears Juve are still interested in the player as his name is continuously linked with them.
Can is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool with reports suggesting that he will depart the club next summer after ignoring signing a new deal at Anfield.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on making his countryman remain with him at Anfield. However, being aware of the big interest coming from Juventus, it’s unlikely the 23-year-old will decide to stay put at the club.
According to reports, Juve chief Beppe Marotta is seeing the idea of getting Emre on a free-transfer next summer as a sweet opportunity too delicious to miss. Considering that the old ladies were after him this summer and were willing to pay Liverpool for his signature, getting him freely next year should be good news for the Serie A heavyweights.
And Italian news outlet Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com) are reporting that Juventus have met Emre’s representatives to discuss a move to Turin next year.
And well, since Liverpool have agreed on a deal for RB Leipzig star player Naby Keita, Can won’t be greatly missed if he departs.
