Salah tipped to eclipse Didier Drogba in the Premier League

Lauren has said Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could eclipse Chelsea legend Didier Drogba as the best African footballer in the English Premier League – although the former Arsenal man admits it will be an uphill task.

The Egypt international winger has made a scintillating start to life at Anfield since joining the Reds from Serie A side AS Roma in the last summer transfer window.

The African was deemed surplus to requirements at the Bridge before being sold to Italian Serie A side Roma.

Salah, 25, has made a bright start to his career at Jurgen klopp’s Liverpool and has formed a good partnership with the likes of Senegalese Sadio Mane, Brazilian duo of Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is widely seen as one of Africa’s greatest footballers of all time, with the Ivorian having made history during his two separate spells at Chelsea.

But former Arsenal Lauren reckons that the former Ivory Coast captain could be eclipsed by Mo Salah in the English Premier League if the attacker continues his good form for the Reds.

The former Arsenal defender is cited as saying by Metro: “[Mo] Salah could be the best – he [Salah] is a young player, playing with such a good team in Liverpool.

The Egyptian will be expecting to play for Liverpool FC when they lock horns with Stoke City at the bet365 on Wednesday.
