Manchester United lead the chase to sign Bordeaux’s Adam Ounas

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Adam Ounas from Bordeaux despite other clubs vying for the signature of the youngster.

The 19-year old is in hot demand after a brilliant season for his club in Ligue 1, with United leading the pack having tabled a fee of about £8 million according to French media

Stoke City, Southampton, Napoli as well as newly promoted Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig are all really interested in bringing the France Under-20 international to their respective clubs.

The French club have endured recent struggles as of late and could only finish 11th last season but despite this Ounas was still able to score five goals and notch two assists in 24 appearances for the club in their last campaign.

Despite the player’s fine form this season questions have been raised about the player’s attitude, especially with his former manager Willy Sagnol.

Sagnol says: “In the youth academy the main problem [with Ounas] was his attitude, how hard he worked and how much he put in.

“He’s been part of the first-team set-up for several weeks now and it’s going well. He listens, his attitude has been excellent.

“If he wants to keep making progress he has to absolutely make sure he keeps this attitude.

Ounas is under contract until 2019 after signing a new deal in December last year.

Since Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford, the former Chelsea boss certainly looks to keep revamping his squad

after wrapping up the signing of Eric Bailey and the potential transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the completion of the Euros .
