Glad tidings to fans as Man United favourites to sign box-to-box midfield maestro

Gianluca Di Marzio suggest Juventus have concluded to step back in the race to sign Nemaja Matic and are instead interested in signing Blaise Matuidi.

Rekon that Juventus were keen about beating Manchester United to the signature of Nemanja Matic, according to reports.

The Chelsea midfielder has been tipped to make a move from the club this summer after becoming surplus to requirement following the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco.

It is understood that Blues boss Antonio Conte is ready to give Cesc Fabregas chances to stake a claim on the starting eleven next season despite Matic’s contributions to their Premier League title winning campaign last season.

The Serb is believed to be keen on leaving Chelsea this window and was even left out of their preseason tour of Asia in order to thrash out a summer exit from Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United are said to be the frontrunners in the deal with reports that Juventus were unwilling to meet Chelsea’s valuation of the midfielder. Although, prior reports suggested that Blues were not going to sell Matic to United after the latter swooped on their priority target Romelu Lukaku but the timely intervention of the club owner Roman Abramovich swung the move in favour of Manchester United.

However, Sky sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that  “Sky in Italy: Nemanja Matic is main midfield target for Juventus. New talks have been held about signing him from Chelsea.”
