Liverpool vs Southampton: Is there any reason to be worried about Van Dijk injury?

Liverpool played host to two football club in the past four days.

The first was Liverpool hosting French side, Paris Saint Germain, in the Uefa Champions Leagues, which ended in a 3 – 2 win in favour for the Reds.

They went ahead to host the second match against Southampton in the English Premier League which is their 6th game and also ended in 3 goals to nothing in favour for the Reds.

So far, Liverpool have won the last 24 matches their home, winning 16 games and playing 8 draws.

In the weekend match, the Red were spectacular and according to Coach Klopp, they should have scored more if not for the changes he said he made.

Well, during the match against Southampton, Liverpool fans were left worried as their defender and the Netherlands captain, Vigil van Dijk limped out off the pitch and was replaced with Joe Gomez at the centre back.

In the aftermath of the match, Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp stressed that there was no reason to fear.

As he disclosed that the player only suffered a knock during the game apart from the bruise on the rib he had before the PSG game.

He stressed that it should not be something serious and hopefully, the top defender will be back in their next match.
