Liverpool Should Have Signed This Goalkeeper In The Summer – Club Legend

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has disclosed that the Anfield giants should have signed England goalkeeper Joe Hart during the transfer window in the summer.

Souness was speaking on the goalkeeping situation at his former club, which has come under the spotlight after German first choice keeper Loris Karius’ underwhelming performance during last week’s 4-3 loss to Bournemouth as he conceded three goals in the last 15 minutes, via his column in The Times.

In his words, he said: “With Liverpool’s attacking style, the goalkeeper is not asked to do very much but Loris Karius has not exactly covered himself in glory.”

“Are they any better off with this guy, than they have been with Simon Mignolet in recent years? I’d suggest not. Joe Hart is better than either. Could they have got him on loan? I don’t know, but they should have tried to.” he further said.
The aforementioned Hart is presently on loan at Italian Serie A side Torino on a season-long loan from Manchester City after he was told that he has no future at the Etihad Stadium by new manager Pep Guardiola with Chilean shot stopper Claudio Bravo signed as replacement.

Joe Hart has been prominent for Torino this season with 3 clean sheets in 13 appearances while under-fire Karius has kept the same number of clean sheets in 9 league games.
