Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been linked to a shocking transfer to Spanish outlet Real Madrid following the sack of Julen Lopetegui who saw his fifth defeat of the season against Barcelona in just 14 games.

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was earlier linked with the job but that seems to be off the table with reports that he is not comfortable picking the job because the players might lack believe in his ability to turn things around.

However, Madrid team B coach Santiago Scolari has been made the coach “provisionally” to take charge of the team pending the appointment of a new manager.

With the controversies at United, reports from Italy according to Gazzetta dello Sport allege that the Portuguese manager will be joining the Spanish giants at the Bernabeu with talks already ongoing.

It is suggested that the former manager will not find it difficult on the job knowing his pedigree as a manager and also that he had worked in the club before.

Mourinho was in charge of the Los Blancos team from 2010 to 2013 before leaving by mutual consent after winning the La Liga title and a Copa de Rey within the period of the three years.
