Liverpool set to complete summer signing of talented 19-year-old

According to reports, Merseyside giant Liverpool are leading the transfer race to complete the signing of Diogo Leite from Portuguese side FC Porto this summer transfer window.

The Guardian is claiming that the teenage sensation is attracting a lot of interest from Premier League sides, including both Manchester City and Arsenal.

However, the same article states that the Reds are the team showing the greater interest in the 19-year-old central defender as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his team ahead of next campaign.

There have been widespread reports that the Gunners are set to meet the centre-half’s €15m buyout clause, but the same report says that Liverpool is currently the player’s most likely destination.

Should the Reds conclude a transfer deal to land Leite this summer transfer window, Liverpool plan to send the defender out on loan next campaign so he can get regular first-team playing chance.

lot of interest expected

The champions league finalists are likely to be strongly linked with a number of players in the coming months as Liverpool look to build a team capable of winning the English Premier League title next term.

The Merseyside giants are aiming to end the campaign with a major trophy when they lock horns with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final later this month in Kiev.
