John Barnes says Jurgen Klopp doesn’t need to lift a silverware this season
The English Premier League is expected to return this weekend with some days spent off in the international break.
Liverpool will be facing at least 7 difficult matches immediately after the break.
They will play against Tottenham Hotspur which is their very first test this season then they will go ahead to face a new Chelsea under Sarri Maurizio, defending Champions, Man City among others.
So it will be some difficult tasks for the Reds altogether as they currently sit at the top of the EPL table.
For how long is what we don’t know.
However, ex Liverpool star, John Barnes in a statement revealed that the Reds Coach, Jurgen Klopp is not under pressure to lift a silverware this season.
John Barnes acknowledges Pep Guardiola led Manchester City squad will be difficult to wade off from the top of the EPL table.
But he stressed that what matter most for the Reds is to be consistent in being in the top four at least rightly behind Man City.
He also revealed that it will be better should Liverpool fail to win a silverware this season, but maintained their hold in the top four.
Iit wouldn’t be a bad idea if the Reds lifted the EPL just to compensate Klopp for his effort in reshaping the team.
Good news as Liverpool set to extend contract of these two defenders
