Hodgson changes made on Chelsea star, searches elsewhere

Premier League side Crystal Palace have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

According to the report from the Daily Mirror, the Eagles have turned down the opportunity to sign the Belgian international striker on loan for the rest of the season.

Michy Batshuayi is on a season-long loan deal at Spanish La Liga giants Valencia from Chelsea at the moment.

Valencia want to terminate his loan contract halfway into it after Batshuayi failed to live up to expectations at the Mestalla this season.

The striker has scored just three goals in 21 appearances for Valencia in all competitions since the start of the season.

This is in stark contrast to the fruitful loan spell that he enjoyed at German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund in the second half of last season.

Crystal Palace have struggled for goals this season but manager Roy Hodgson is awaiting the return of first choice striker Christian Benteke who is coincidentally an international teammate of Batshuayi.

Despite the lack of goals from his strikers, the Crystal Palace boss is not willing to take Batshuayi on loan.

The former Standard Liege star is not in the immediate plans of Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.

He has been linked with a loan move to clubs like AS Roma and AS Monaco.
