Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea are set to announce the signing of Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain, that’s according Marca.

The Argentine star was Sarri’s prime target during the summer transfer window but Juventus failed to release him, instead, they loaned him to Serie A counterparts AC Milan.

Marca reports earlier in the day that the former Napoli manager hasn’t given up on the former Madrid striker as he is keenly interested in luring him to Stamford Bridge.

However, the Italian is set to finally capture his longtime target as reports emanating from Stamford Bridge suggest that Higuain has agreed to Chelsea’s terms and the deal is close to being sealed.

Though Juventus are yet to accept the Blues offer for the experienced goal-poacher, it is believed that the Scuddeto Champions are hoping to offload him this month due to his recent unconvincing display.

This would come as good news to every Chelsea fans who are tired of Morata’s unproductivity in front of goal.

The Spaniard has endured a very difficult spell with the West London outfit and reports suggest he could be heading back to Spain as Sevilla are looking to capture him on a six-month loan deal.

As for Higuain, nothing is confirmed yet but it’s certain Chelsea are leading the park for his signature.

Should the Argentine eventually link up with the former Premier League Champions this month, the club’s goalscoring burden will be shifted on his shoulder and I hope it won’t be too demanding for the ageing striker.
