Good news for Arsenal fans as club hints German star will stay

Arsenal may have got fans happy for no noteworthy reason or possibly even truly dropped a huge hint that German star Mesut Ozil is staying back.

The North Londoners decided to post a number of Mesut Ozil’s best goals on social Media on Sunday in what looked to just be a mere innocent tweet after his brilliant strike in the victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.

However, judging from fans comment, some supporters believed the post was possibly a build up to a deal renewal for the attacking midfielder.

The German will see his current contract expire in the summer, therefore the result is that he is able to leave the club on a free transfer.

Letting the German leave is bad news enough in itself for the Gunners, but to see him depart for free would be a big blow, and so the Emirates club will get one last opportunity in the New Year to sell him and earn a transfer fee if they opt to, albeit a low fee considering his current contract situation.

Nevertheless, the supporters have opted to stay positive and perhaps have read too much meaning to the post, as a number of fans were more than convinced that the club’s decision to post the player’s best goals was just a precursor to the big announcement over a new Arsenal deal.
