Chelsea Target Labelled ‘Failure’ At Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been branded a failure by French football legend Marcel Desailly following his poor form for the club in recent games.

Marcel Desailly was part of the France squad that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup tournament on home soil by beating the then world champions Brazil 3-0 in their final clash.

He talked about Gareth Bale and Real Madrid while he was on BeIN Sport.

According to him, Real Madrid expected Gareth Bale to step up for the club in the wake of the exit of former talisman but the Welshman has been a failure in that regard.

Real Madrid have sorely missed Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Italian Serie A champions Juventus in a club-record deal worth €100m.

Gareth Bale has come under a lot of pressure from his own fans and that has heightened the transfer rumours linking him with clubs like Chelsea.

The 29-year-old has been mooted as a possible replacement for wantaway Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Gareth Bale was booed by Real Madrid fans during the El Clasico meeting in the league last weekend.

The Welsh international was booed by the home faithfuls while he was being substituted during the game which Barcelona won 1-0 courtesy the first half goal from Croatian World Cup star Ivan Rakitic.
