Chelsea to table £15million bid for 32-year-old striker

Fernando Llorente

According to reports, Chelsea are set to offer Swansea City £15million for Spaniard Fernando Llorente as Conte looks to strengthen his team before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Chelsea have signed defender Antonio Rudiger, striker Alvaro Morata, and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer transfer window, but the Chelsea boss is worried by the lack of depth in his Chelsea team.

The continued absence of striker Diego Costa means the Blues have just Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi as options upfront and that would look thin considering the added fixtures the Conte’s men will have this season.

Fernando Llorente was a target for Conte in January, but his club was not willing to cash in as they were battling relegation.

Llorente, 32, played under Antonio Conte at Serie A giant Juventus and is currently on the treatment table having broken his arm.

Notwithstanding, as per the Telegraph, Chelsea plan to present a £15million offer this week and are sure of landing their target.

The next couple of days is expected to be a very hectic one in west London with Antonio Conte targeting up to four new players to join the Stamford Bridge club.

The Blues are also interested in signing Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Dutchman Virgil van Dijk and a defender, preferably full-back as well as Swansea City’s Llorente.
