There are fears that French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain would part ways with Italian goalkeeper Gigi Buffon at the end of the season following the Champions League defeat against Man United on Wednesday night.
The Ligue 1 giants had already secured a 2-0 away win at the Old Trafford in the first leg but they were still eliminated from the competitions as they were defeated by the Red Devils 3-1 in Paris.
Gigi Buffon’s performance in the game is arguably unsatisfactory and he has not had it lightly from the fans who have showered their criticisms on social media.
The agent of the legendary goalkeeper, Silvano Maritana in his reaction said he has nothing to say about the criticisms of his player as he was in Italy and did not know what happened after the game.
He noted that mistakes happen in football, insisting that the Ligue 1 side had secured a win away from home which makes it possible for an away team to win in France as well.
However, Gigi Buffon’s agent said he does not know what the decision of the club would be on his client but will hold on to get the words of the club as he would not rely on rumours.
