Euro giant send strong warning over £135million star to Arsenal and Liverpool

Josep Maria Bartomeu has said that FC Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele will not be leaving the La Liga Champions this summer transfer window, despite talk linking the attacker with Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool.

Big money transfer last summer

The France international winger was signed to the newly-crowned Spanish champions last summer window in a massive £135million deal from German side Borussia Dortmund.

However, the forward has endured a below-par campaign at the club, with injury woes playing a big part, and a dip in form leading to suggestions he could be eyed by the Premier League duo.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp handed a sarcastic reply to newsmen when questioned about interest in the French youngster after the Red’s loss by Chelsea, saying: “Is he (Dembele) on the (transfer) market? Now I (Klopp) am interested.”

Barcelona not selling

Barcelona President Bartomeu has however quashed any chance of a summer window departure.

The Barcelona president told Catalan radio station RAC 1  that the option of offloading Dembele is not on the table right now.

He confirmed that the young forward is an investment for the future and that the club expects so much from him.

Meanwhile, Bartomeu, has distanced the Catalan club with a return move for Brazil international Neymar Jr. this summer transfer window.
