Manchester United have confirmed that ten players have so far left the Theater of Dreams this summer and that they’ve added three new signings to the flock.
The three summer signings:
1. Diogo Dalot (from FC Porto)
2. Fred (from Shakhtar Donetsk)
3. Lee Grant (from Stoke City)
Dalot was signed to provide competition for Antonio Valencia in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI at Old Trafford. The talented right-back was impressive at FC Porto and was able to catch the attention of United boss Jose Mourinho, who became convinced that the youngster has all it takes to flourish at the Theater of Dreams.
Dalot is expected to be a long-term replacement for ageing Valencia.
Brazilian midfielder Fred was signed to replace Michael Carrick who hung his boots at the end of last season.
The South American star is expected to provide more solidness in the middle of the park and allow Paul Pogba move more confidently in the attack
Latest signing Lee Grant is the club’s third-choice goalie, who is meant to provide cover for the duo of David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
The management have decided sending some of their young goalkeepers to other clubs where they can get enough playing time to enhance their development.
