Deal could be sealed this week as Chelsea close in on star duo

According to reports, Chelsea are closing in on a move to secure the signature of Roma pair Edin Dzeko and defender Emerson Palmieri.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, a deal is close with the duo ready to seal a move to Stamford Bridge.

The double swoop deal is set to cost the Blues about £45 million this winter transfer window.

There had been some claims that Belgium international striker Michy Batshuayi could head in the opposite way on loan as part of the transfer deal.

However, it now looks like the Chelsea forward will not be going to Rome with the Italian Serie A side not really convinced by the forward.

The transfer deal to land Emerson from AS Roma will see the Premier League champions allow Brazil youngster Kenedy to seal a loan transfer to Newcastle.

The starlet has agreed to a loan switch to St James’ Park but Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has blocked his exit until another left wing back is brought in.

Dzeko has been strongly linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea.

The former Juventus manager has been desperately looking to land both a good striker and a left back during the current transfer window.
