According to BBC Sport football reporter David Ornstein, Chilean Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United will be a straightforward swap for playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who will sign for Arsenal.
This swap deal has been one of the winter’s most hotly-anticipated transfer as the Red Devils made their move to land Alexis Sanchez.
The former Barcelona star’s future has been a source of rumour in the last couple of months after entering the last 12 months of his Arsenal contract.
The Gunners are reported to have been interested in getting United’s Mkhitaryan as part of the swap deal as manager Arsene Wenger looked to strengthen his attacking line after Sanchez’s departure.
And BBC reporter Ornstein has suggested that money will not exchange hands between the two teams, with the Armenian attacker heading to North London as part of the transfer deal.
The Red Devils return to Emirates FA Cup duty on Friday when they lock horns with Yeovil Town in the next round – fourth round.
The Gunners, meanwhile, are now getting set to for their crucial Carabao Cup semi-final fixture against Antonio Conte’s Chelsea at The Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
The North Londoners head into that encounter after having played out a 0-0 draw with the West Londoners in the first leg at the Bridge earlier this month.
